The MSWF SmartWater Water Filter is built to catch what you can't detect on your own. Installation Guide

  • Locate: Find the filter housing in the upper right corner inside your GE refrigerator compartment
  • Remove: Grip the old filter and rotate it counterclockwise about a half turn, then pull it straight out
  • Insert: Slide the new MSWF filter into the housing and rotate clockwise until it stops and locks into place
  • Prime: Flush the filter with 3 to 4 gallons of water until it runs clear. Some noise is normal as air purges from the system 
  • Reset: Reset the filter indicator light on your control panel per your fridge's user guide
